Lake Sabrina Fishing Report

Lake Sabrina Boat Landing Staff

Lots of limits still coming out of the Lake along with a couple of nicer fish - Jack Hsieh of Torrance landed a nice 2-3/4 pound Rainbow on a Thomas Buoyant. Tom Henry of Ventura caught a 4 pound brute on a gold Crocodile. We had a little helper with the gut can at the cleaning table the last few nights - a bear - luckily that's all he wanted - never touched any of our garbage cans. Fishing the Inlets with NightCrawlers, PowerBait or Jigs. Trolling flashers and a NightCrawler, or just a Thomas Buoyants, or WoolyBuggers, or NightCrawler (remember don't forget that swivel). Drifting the rock piles with PowerBait or NightCrawlers. Shore fishing with NightCrawlers, PowerBait or Salmon Eggs. And it sure did help with the Department of Fish and Game stocking the lake last Monday with another very nice load of fish. Lake Sabrina Boat Landing starts fall hours on September 20th.

SUNDAY - 7:00am to 6:00pm
MONDAY - 8:00am to 6:00pm
TUESDAY - 8:00am to 6:00pm
WEDNESDAY - 8:00am to 6:00pm
THURSDAY - 8:00am to 6:00pm
FRIDAY - 8:00am to 6:00pm
SATURDAY - 7:00am to 7:00pm

It's still fairly warm in the high country - highs in the low 70s and lows in the high 40s. Remember, the campgrounds tend to be a bit cooler as the chilly air settles in the pockets down by the streams. It's very strange how the same temp feels a whole lot colder when that FALL nip arrives. You can check www.weather.gov and enter Aspendell, CA on the site and it will give you a fairly good hint at the weather or check in with Howard at www.MammothWeather.com

The following USFS campgrounds will be closing next Sunday - North Lake, Sabrina Camp, Mountain Glen and Willow. There is a full hook-up RV campground - Creekside RV park which is on the road to South Lake. We'll try and keep you updated on the campground closings. Remember your polarized dark glasses and sunscreen. Wash your hands after you applied sunscreen, bug juice or any other fu-fu juice. The Lake Sabrina crew is looking forward to seeing you all this year.
