Trouts are starting to move around the lakes as fall approaches. Bite is still slow but improving with late morning breezes and cooler temperatures. Anglers are using everything in their tackle boxes to catch fish including Power Bait ( especially salmon peach, garlic and rainbow), night crawlers, jigs and lures. Hot spots included the grassy point and the eastern shore of lake 3 as well as the northern and western shores of lake 2. Catfish were biting on shrimp and night crawlers. Bass are biting on spinner bait and senkos with anglers reporting fish up to 3 pounds. Hot spots for bass included the northern and western shores of lake 3 and the western and southern shores of lake 2. Bluegill are biting meal worms and small jigs from the southern and eastern shore of lake 2 and the northern and western shores of lake 3.

Catches of the Week: Riverside angler, Juan Velasco, scored a 10 lbs 4 0zs rainbow on an Alaskan Fry while fishing the grassy point of lake 3. Ron Slater of Apple Valley reeled in a 5 lbs trout using salmon peach Power Bait from the eastern logged shore of lake 3. Larry Andover of Upland caugth a 4 lbs 3 ozs rainbow on a rainbow Power Bait/ night crawler combo while fish the northern shore of lake 2 near the bridge.

The Lakes' Hatchery stocks trout every Friday year round. This year the Lakes' hatchery is amping up the weekly trout stockings with bigger fish overall.
