Yuma was unusually cool opening morning of dove season and the shooting was as good as it gets even by the highest standard of this hunting Mecca.

Rich Holland of SportfishingReport.com and his party of five other hunters all had limits of a mixed bag of mourning and whitewing dove before 8 am and they left the field with big flocks of birds still up.

"Prospects look great for the second morning and on through the weekend," said Holland. "Especially since hunter numbers were light with the midweek opener."
