SHOGUN SPORTFISHING TRIP UPDATE (071010)
7-10-2010
Bruce A. Smith
AT THE BLUEFIN GROUNDS (071010)!!! It was much better fishing today on the Bluefin grounds. We saw plenty of fish, most didn't want to bite for us, but we did get in a few licks. The weather is still good, but cold.

Lately I have been using a new(at least it's new to me) knot for attaching solid braid to fluorocarbon or mono. It's called the FG knot and is very similar to the GT knot. The jigging and spinning guys that chase those monster Dogtooth tuna and Giant Trevally came up with these. They are pretty darn cool, although a little complicated at first. The knots are in fact, like the Bimini twist, not a knot but a weave around the fluoro, which means a much stronger connection. If you interested you can google it or I found a decent set of instructions on YouTube.
