5-9-2010
Bruce Hamby

King Salmon action is picking up steam! As water temps heat up, the salmon are moving into deeper water around McClure Point. Good lures to try are shad pattern, Slim Fins, Crystal Basin ,and Uncle Larry's squid bodies, or slow down and roll shad injected with Pro Cure scent. Drop down 70 to 100 feet and be patient the kings are very scattered. This week Warren Cooper of Elk Grove, climbed aboard to nail schnooks 2 1/2 to 3 pounds and released 4 others in the 2 pound class. Brent Balswick of Turlock, took time out from work for a day on the water with me. By the end of the day Brett boxed 5 Kings ranging 2 1/2 to just under 4 pounds and released 7 others. Lake McClure continues to rise and water conditions are very clear. Water temperatures is 65 degrees by afternoon.

Uncle Larry's spinners, Slim Fins and Ex-cel lures behind ball flashers or dodgers combined with Pro-Cure Trout Gel made a combination the fish couldn't resist. Thank...... Read More
