U.S. Representative John Adler To Speak With Fishermen In Lakewood
The Marine Trades Association of New Jersey (MTA/NJ) is pleased to announce that the Spring Jersey Shore Boat Sale & Expo will be held next weekend, May 14-16, at FirstEnergy Park in Lakewood, home of the Lakewood Blue Claws. This three-day sales event will be held at the same great location as the first Jersey Shore Boat Expoo with even more to offer exhibitors and consumers. The show runs from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday the 14th, and from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, the 15th and 16th.
On May 15, the RFA, MTA/NJ and The Fisherman Magazine will host a Fisheries Town Hall Meeting at noon, featuring U.S. Congressman John Adler. Join the open forum to get answers to the nagging questions about our boating and fishing community. Rep. Adler is co-sponsor of the Flexibility in Rebuilding American Fisheries Act and an active member of the national Sportsmen's Caucus. This is a great opportunity for recreational boaters and fishermen to interact with their coastal representative in Washington DC, while enjoying a Saturday afternoon at the shore!
Immediately following the Fisheries Town Hall Meeting noon, stick around Blue Claws Stadium conference hall for an afternoon of exciting seminar action. At 2 pm, hook-up with Gary Caputi, noted author (Fishing for Striped Bass) and field editor for Salt Water Sportsman magazine, as he reveals some of most guarded striper secrets. With the spring run of trophy striped bass in full swing, you won't want to miss Top Tips for Stripers on Saturday, May 15 at 2 p.m.
At 4 p.m. that Saturday, join RFA-NJ chairman Capt. Adam Nowalsky for a discussion on reef and wreck fishing along the Jersey Coast. The skipper of Karen Ann II Charters in Southern Jersey makes his living putting charters onto great action at the local snags, and is taking time off the water to help Jersey Shore Boat Expo attendees maximize their efforts and experience while fishing the Garden State reefs and wrecks this season. Bottom's UP, 2010 should be a banner year for you and the family, especially with the good news regarding our upcoming black sea bass season!
Congratulations by the way are in order for Hamilton's Tom Valentino, winner of the Chris Pezska custom mahi carving raffled off during the 2010 show season. Tom's membership was draw at random from the batch of new and renewing memberships taking at the A.C. Boat Show, Philly Oaks Show, Shore Catch Guide Service seminar, and Salt Water Expo in Somerset. Tom will officially accept his new mahi carving at the Fisheries Town Hall Meeting on May 15th in Lakewood (for directions, visit www.jerseyboatexpo.com)
RFA-NJ would also like to congratulate Donald G. Tedrow of Chalfont, PA, the winner of the $150 offshore tackle prize package with assorted Megabait Sea-Boz lures and Archer Superbars in the Ameri-Pak waterproof case, given away at Strictly Jersey last weekend! RFA will be contacting you to get your prize box delivered Donald!
