RFA-NJ News Alert - License Discussion Tonight in Brigantine
4-26-2010
Recreational Fishing Alliance
Tonight at 8 p.m., the Absecon Saltwater Sportsmen will host a pro-saltwater license discussion presented by the NJ Division of Fish and Wildlife (DFW). The DFW staff has been going around to various clubs at night discussing the state's fiscal crisis and explaining how a saltwater license would be a huge benefit to the fishing community, while simultaneously preaching against the saltwater registry legislation supported by a vast majority of saltwater anglers in the state of New Jersey.
If you'd like to see the state implement the saltwater registry legislation in order to comply with the federal mandate and save saltwater anglers from having to pay a user fee to either the state or the federal government, tonight's meeting organizers say you're invited to attend to "let your feelings be known." The meeting location is the Brigantine VFW Post 6964 at 121 31st Street, Brigantine.
South Jersey Marina in Cape May will once again host their Strictly Jersey boat show event on April 30, May and May 2. This weekend's unique in-water & on-land event will feature New Jersey based boat manufacturers, dealers and businesses who are in the business of selling boating related products or services to recreational fishermen and boaters in the Garden State.
For winter boat show attendees who miss seeing the biggest and best locally produced boats every year - Viking, Egg Harbor, Henriques, Jersey Cape - this is the "can't miss show" of the 2010 season. Every in-water slip will accommodate sea trials, at dealer discretion. The Organizers have made it possible for qualified New Jersey boaters (holders of a valid New Jersey safe boating certificate or Sea Tow Membership) to attend the show free of charge. The non-boating public is welcome to attend the show; admission is $15 per person.
Strictly JerseyJoin the RFA-NJ chapter for Strictly Jersey at South Jersey Marina in Cape May. Those signing up for new or renewing membership to the RFA will be entered into a special drawing for a $150 offshore tackle prize package, featuring an assortment of Megabait 8-1/2" Sea-Boz lures and Archer Superbars complete in an Ameri-Pak waterproof case. The winner, who need not be present, will be drawn at random from those memberships paid for from Friday through Sunday, April 30 through May 2 at Strictly Jersey. Gates will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.
