Pyramid Lake Fishing Report

4-20-2010
Truckee River Outfitters

The weather during the last part of March and the first part of April has been crazy. We have seen everything from big snow storms to 70 degree days. The water temperature at Pyramid actually dropped from 48 degrees to 45 degrees the first part of April. The fishing has been up and down over the past couple of weeks due to the weather. The temps are on their way up and the fish are just starting to come into really shallow water over the past few days. The fly fishing over the next few weeks should be very good as the water temps get back to their normal spring time averages. The fish are still spread out and a number of beaches have been fishing well. Nymphing with red or black maholo nymphs and midges continues to be the way to go with a floating line. Stripping white and chartreuse tadpoles, midnight cowboys and martini olives with a shooting head has also been really good. Book a guide trip here.
