ALOHA SPIRIT - APRIL SFR CHARTER TRIP (041810)
4-19-2010
Edgar Ylanan
We had a grand time on our SFR charter on the ALOHA SPIRIT with 18 anglers on board. We left the landing at 5 am and drove couple hours to Santa Cruz Island. We started drifting for Rockfish and ended with some Huge Salmon Groupers and few Reds and Lingcod. My buddy Dan Davis caught his limit of Lings in a couple drift. Everybody got their limits in the morning. In the afternoon we headed to the beach searching for the elusive White Seabass. Captain Shawn sighted some few swimmers but were not interested. That was a sight to see - 10 to 20 lbs class swimming around. We caught few Calico, Barracuda(released) and few misc. fish in the afternoon. Chef Jerry did a good job in the kitchen. His Breakfast Burrito and his Ultimate Pastrami sandwich are number one on my list. My compliments to the deckhands, Cory and Kelly, for their superb job. They were there at all times when you need them. Overall we had good trip. Our total fish count: limit of Salmon Groupers, 68 Vermilion Rockfish, 10 Calico Bass, 5 Lingcod & few Barracuda(released). A special thanks to the entire ALOHA SPIRIT crew for their awesome hard work and I look forward to our next charter in July. By the way, ALOHA SPIRIT runs LINGCOD SPECIAL TRIP every Monday. Don't miss the actions!!! Call Captain Hooks Sportfishing or check the Aloha Spirit website for their next available trip.
