It usually happens, we are at the Fred Hall Show in Del Mar and the fishing starts to take off. Well, we will get our licks in next week, but there is definitely signs that spring fishing has arrived. Yellowtail are biting at the Coronado Islands on both surface iron and yo-yo. Fish are nice- 15-25 pounds- and though it is not wide open, you can get your shots on these quality fish. Most of the action has be south of south island and just outside the rock pile. La Jolla is loaded with fin bait, and the occasional yellowtail and white sea bass is being caught. Look for this to improve as the water warms. Calico bass fishing in La Jolla has been excellent. Catalina has been kicking out limits of white sea bass around the east end, and squid has been available although not plentiful. Fish and Game has been there checking boats, so be sure to observe the 1 fish limit on seabass.

Tony has taken over the family business after the death of his dad last year and is the captain of the Tony Reyes mothership from San Felipe. Eric is a wealth of knowledge on both fresh and saltwater tackle.
