After a few days of big winds and rough seas, the ocean sea surface temperature did change, but not as dramatic as you might expect. The temperature in La Jolla is close to 60 degrees, and don't be surprised to see something happen there as we run into a stretch of great weather for the next few days. Conditions at Catalina are good, but lack of squid right now has boats looking. Watch for that to improve as we move through March. The water at the Coronado Islands did roll a bit, and it may take a few days for that to come back and the big yellowtail to get back on the chew. Overall, it is spring fishing time and anything can happen, so spend your time on the water and you may be rewarded.

We had a fantastic Fred Hall Long Beach show. It was great to see many of our listeners and we thank you for all the great comments about the show. We had the largest crowds ever for our two live broadcasts at the Hyatt, and we thank everyone that took the time to come down. Boats are selling, tackle is moving and trips are booking, so it looks like the fishing business is moving in high gear in anticipation of the upcoming El Nino year. We are all gearing up for The Fred Hall Del Mar show, which starts March 24 at the Fairgrounds in Del Mar, we look forward to seeing you there.

Pat will be moving the Pacific Dawn to Oxnard next week and will talk about his spring season there, and the upcoming summer season back at Fishermans Landing.
