Partly cloudy with a chance of rain for the foreseeable future. Clearing by Wednesday!

The forecast calls for partly cloudy with a chance of rain for the weekend and throughout next week, improving by Wednesday. The Lake level rose about 3 feet due to the last rain storm. The Lake level is now approximately 13 feet below spill. Water temperatures are 48 degrees at 20 feet and 52 at surface. Water clarity is about 8 feet with some debris present.

Bank Fishing-The cove/jetty behind the Marina has picked up again along with the Launch Ramp, Blue Herron Point and behind the EBMUD boathouse. The hot baits continue to be power worms in every color but brown (orange and chartreuse were particularly successful), silver/blue Kastmasters and black woolly buggers...

Trolling-----Continued good reports from the few boaters braving the elements. Folks are still flat lining and drift fishing the River at Columbia Gulch as far as Indian Rock. Good size Trout and some German Browns to 4 pounds have been reported recently. The fish are within 10 feet of the surface this time of year due to the cold water temperatures. Small spoon or needlefish type lures in red, pink and fire tiger patterns tipped with a night crawler, grub or power worm behind small flashers , dodgers or sidekicks in silver/green work well.

Recent Success stories-----A Father Son team Ronald and Kevin Brown of Sacramento both got nice limits behind the EBMUD boathouse. Kastmasters and power bait were the two things that worked the best. Congratulations Gentlemen-well done!

The California Department of Fish and Game has planted 1000 lbs of fish in addition Pardee Lake Inc has planted 17,000 lbs of trout with more plants scheduled for the near future.
