ACTION ALERT: INFORMATION ON THE UPCOMING CALIFORNIA FISH AND GAME COMMISSION MEETING
Attend the meeting and help ensure that your voice is heard!

March 3, 2010 at 8:30 am
DoubleTree Hotel - Ontario Airport
222 N. Vineyard Avenue, Ontario, California

Your time on the water is being threatened by the implementation of the Marine Life Protection Act (MLPA), which requires the formation of a network of marine protected areas (MPAs) in California's coastal waters, including marine reserves which prohibit all consumptive activities. This includes recreational fishing!

On March 3, 2010, California's Fish and Game Commission (FGC) will meet at the DoubleTree Hotel in Ontario, Calif., to discuss the four Marine Life Protection Act (MLPA) marine protected area (MPA) proposals for the South Coast Region.

The Partnership for Sustainable Oceans (PSO), which represents the interests of anglers and boaters, supports Proposal 2 for the South Coast. Of the three proposals in front of the FGC, only Proposal 2 reflects the true spirit of conservation, balancing protection of the environment while minimizing the economic impact.

Please attend the public meeting on March 3 in support of Proposal 2 and help ensure that anglers have a strong presence! The public will have an opportunity to comment at the meeting. The meeting commences at 8:30 am and will be a long - but very important - day for anglers. Let the FGC members know how important recreational fishing is to you and your family, and that additional marine reserves do not always mean more - or better - conservation!

Visit www.fgc.ca.gov/meetings/2010/2010mtgs.asp for more information on the March 3 meeting.

Thank you for doing your part to Keep America Fishing!
