Hello from Your Lake Jennings: 290 kids, moms and dads attended our Kids Day event. Lots of fish were caught and the food and prizes were terrific. Every child caught a gift bag and only those that didn't like chicken, hamburgers, hot dogs and flatiron steak went home hungry. There is a good Bass Assassin bite along the shore. The trout action is centered primarily on boaters floating nightcrawlers 6 ft. below a red and white bobber and the channel cats were definitely in Hermit Cove eating nightcrawlers and mackerel.

Best trout spots: Shadow Cove and fishing float

Best trout bait: Rainbow Power Bait or inflated crawlers fished with a water float.

Best trout lures: Orange # 5 Rapala's

Best cat spots: Hermit Cove and the cormorant trees.

Best cat bait: Bring mackerel and fish shallow.

Best Bass Spots: Close to shore on the points.

Best Bass Lures /bait: Bass Assassins' and # 9 Rapalas.

Water Temp: 71 degrees

Notables: Sat., Cassandra Miller, age 7, Henderson NV, 7-8 largemouth, pink Flying Lure, Sentry Cove.

Prognosis: Shiners for bass and mackerel for the cats. Trout action will be spotty.

Lake Jennings Free Fishing University will talk about fishing catfish. 1PM Sunday.

Hello from your Lake Jennings! Trout fishing continues to be strong but the fish have moved to deeper water off of Cactus Patch and the fishing float. Boaters are having better success than bankies. There are several strategies for bass. Throwing 5" Bass Assasins or floating Rapalas against the bank, drop-shotting reapers or 4 to 6" worms in 25 to 30 ft. off the points or dragging shiners up and down the water column. The advantage of that is you...... Read More
