*This is the Sportfishing Report from San Quintin, Baja California, November 2009*

The past Saturday, we visited The Old Mill Site at San Quintín for the fish counts from the sportfishing.

Four bouts were fishing out: Goyita, Paloma, Cucajuan, and Magdalena, that lodged 11 anglers and total catch was 127 fishes. One yellowtail of 10 pounds and two bonitos were fished by anglers aboard Cucajuan, a drastic decrease of big pelagic fishes respect to October.

The catch was dominated by bottom fish from the famous 240 spot, mainly ocean whitefish (61 individuals), starry rockfish (21), red rockfish (11), and treefish (10), plus lingcod, sheephead, brown rockfish, kelp rockfish, California scorpionfish, redbanded rockfish, and bocaccio. The day was sunny with light winds, however the three days before Saturday, a big swell was present in the area that don't permitted the fishing trips. Sea surface temperature reported by Captains was 69 Fahrenheit degrees.

Saludos and see you in December.
