LANDING UPDATE!!! Even with the Rockcod closures, boats could still fish below Pigeon Point to the Marine Reserve which is New Years Island. It takes one hour and half to get to the fishing ground. The closure affects North of Pigeon Point to the Oregon border. Queen of Hearts is chartered this weekend. Next trip will be Monday October 8th. This is a really frustrating time of year. The forecast some days is right at that teetering point where it could be a fine day for fishing or we could be going back to bed, and unfortunately there's really no way of knowing for sure until we arrive at the harbor in the morning to see which way the teeter totter will bounce.
