From Royal Star Sportfishing
Fish Report for 4-29-2025
Captain Roy Rose did a bang up job scratching a beautiful catch of wahoo and nice tuna. Eager for a chance to contribute I came in as the closer looking for a big hit to end the voyage on a high note. I won’t say that I blew a two run lead, or anything close, but the bank definitely served up a load of bull to work with. That same group of sharks had their way with us in the early am and opportunity was sparse, mighty sparse, thereafter. Fortunately the fish gods relented just a little in the dwindling minutes of our fishing time yielding a handful more mid grade tuna, and a inspirational surface showing, before the final call. Today’s image features a lighter moment grabbed earlier in the trip as long time Royal Star friends Dr Dave Hall and “Hot Bobby” Hirsch celebrate their catches with the guys.
If you would like to go fishing with us please BOOK ONLINE or call (619) 224-4764 to get in on the action.

A little less sign and a bit more wind added a different color to the mosaic painted over the past few days. Not that the wahoo fishing suffered. Still able to scratch away and nab a handful from the occasional ambush anglers seeking “skin” were not denied multiple chances. Enough larger yellowfin cruised the perimeter to elicit an occasional mistake with the kites and fly lined sardines successful in equal proportions. While overall production was a little down from yesterday...... Read More
