Crane Prairie is offering fantastic fall fishing!
10-4-2024
Fly and Field Outfitters
Crane Prairie has become a favorite recently, especially with success on the Cultus side. Bring a mix of flies, including balanced leeches, chironomids (black/red or black/silver), Blood Worms, and patterns like two-bits, zebra midges, ice cream cones, and San Juans. Stripping flies on an intermediate line is a great way to cover water and find fish. Don't forget about topwater action—larger foam dries like Chubby Chernobyl or Damsels and Water Boatman are ideal. Despite nearby fires, access to Crane remains open, though it’s smart to check for updates as conditions can change quickly. Overall, Crane Prairie is offering fantastic fall fishing, along with nearby Quinn, Rock Creek, and the Deschutes.
