EAST WALKER RIVER

The East is running about 110 cfs right now and is fishing very well lately. We’ve had great reports on nymphing as well as fishing streamers and still a few reports on dries here and there. For the most part the “Miracle Mile” section has been slow still due to the fish die off several weeks ago, however, we did talk to one angler who fished the lower section of the Mile and did very well, he reported catching 20+ rainbows down there which is a pretty good day. This kind of tells us that some fish are starting to move back into there from below which is great news. Below the mile and on into Nevada the fishing has been even better for most anglers, the water temps have cooled down a bit and the fish are very happy and healthy. Some flies that have been successful include: dead drift crayfish, ziwi, Dali Lama, sculpzilla, pheasant tail, soft hackle, copper john, zebra midge, perdigon, picky eater, rainbow warrior and flashback emerger.

SCEIRINE RANCH

The ranch has been fishing excellent this past week with reports coming in from anglers getting into 30+ fish per day. Some of the anglers down there are doing great with streamers and some with nymphs, it seems like one or the other works better on certain days so I would be prepared to fish whichever method they are liking the best for the day you’re there. We’re getting quite a few bookings for the ranch so if you would like to fish down there try to give us a call as much ahead of time as you can.

HUNEWILL POND

The pond is still fishing pretty well with anglers reporting from 2 or 3 fish per day to 15+ fish per day. Some of the better action has been with small leech patterns though we have had a couple good reports from anglers fishing small flashy nymphs as well. There are still some weeds to contend with but if you kick around and find the areas that are less weedy there are usually plenty of fish there.

BRIDGEPORT RESERVOIR

We’ve started to get some good reports from shore anglers down near the dam on the reservoir, fishing bait like power bait, mice tails and pinched crawlers has been producing some nice fish. The water is still pretty green but depending on which way the wind is blowing you may or may not even notice it. Some anglers are reporting 2 or 3 fish per day and some are reporting up to 7 or 8 fish per day. The trolling is also still doing well with Thomas Bouyants, small Rapalas and night crawlers and there are still some anglers doing well with bait over near Rainbow Point.

KIRMAN LAKE

Didn’t hear any news from Kirman this week but we will let you in on it when we do.

TWIN LAKES

The Twins are still kicking out some good fish for anglers fishing from boats as well as some fish from the shore. Shore anglers are having some success with power bait, mice tails, inflated crawlers and pinched crawlers and in the early morning and late evening they’re getting a few fish casting Rapalas and Kastmasters. Trollers are getting some fish with Rapalas, needlefish and Thomas Bouyants.

WEST WALKER RIVER

We haven’t heard much from the West still but hopefully now that the highway is back open we’ll start getting some reports from up there, when we do we’ll pass the info on.

VIRGINIA LAKES

We had some good reports from the Virginias this week from anglers fishing bait from the shore and lures and mini jigs from float tubes. It sounds like the fishing is better if you can get out on the water in a tube or kayak but you should still be able to pull some fish if you’re casting from the shore.

If you would like to receive this report via email, drop me a line at reidfly63@yahoo.com and I'll get you on the list!
