Crooked River is fishing exceptionally!

9-20-2024
Fly and Field Outfitters

The Crooked River is fishing exceptionally and is treating us really well right now! Nymphing is the best way to go during the day, with patterns such as zebra midges, and tungsten frenchies, and micro mays. Scuds in tan, green, and orange are also effective options. Keep an eye out for caddis and PMD activity when using dry flies—having a good selection of both is essential. Size 18 seems to be the sweet spot. If you’re looking for something different, swinging soft hackles or small streamers can be both fun and productive.
