Half Moon Bay Sportfishing Staff
The wind didn't cooperate this morning. We arrived at the harbor to find the flags standing at attention in the breeze signaling the end of our hopes for making it out today. However...we just received the updated afternoon forecast and the wind is supposed to back off a tad, so we're going to give it another try tomorrow on Wednesday. Same drill: if you're up for giving it a go, come on down and check in between 5:00 a.m. when we open the doors to no later than 5:30.

Saturday's rain stopped so we can go fishing, right? Wrong. Blue skies have absolutely nothing to do with whether we go fishing or not. It's all up to the wind and swells. And both of them were humping and bumping. I looked at the Half Moon Bay buoy report mid-afternoon and it was reporting winds of 29 knots with gusts to 35 and a 16 foot swell every 11 seconds.
