Fish Report for 8-30-2024
Naci fell to 64 percent of capacity, and fishing was good
8-30-2024
Chad Burton and Chris Borden
Naci fell to 64 percent of capacity, and fishing was good. Bass anglers have fallen into a reliable pattern of topwater mornings followed by finesse afternoons. Walking baits, buzz baits, and Whopper Ploppers all scored bites early and late in the day. Drop shot four-inch worms in Aaron’s Magic, bait fish, and purple produced well in 10 to 30 feet of water. Spotted bass also took stick baits, and darter head grubs. White bass fell for trolled spoons and small swimbaits, but they also took topwater lures when the white bass chased baitfish to the surface. Catfish anglers used cut baits, chicken liver, and dip bait to get bit, and crappie have been holding over submerged brush.
