Bayside Marine

The bite slowed down today compared to yesterday. There were a few fish caught early near Monterey at 36'39/122'00, 36'40/121'57 and 36'36/121'57. The majority of the fish were caught 90-160 feet down trolling. The scores ranged from 0-3 fish a boat. There were a few fish caught at 36'49/121'51 by a boat who was trolling Krocodiles and Kajikis 80 feet down. There are some big bait balls near Moss Landing where the fish were caught. I did get a few reports of fish being caught at 36'50/121'55. The water was choppy in the morning but then it laid down as the day went on. The winds are expected to stay down for Saturday.?? Late report April 20:?? I just spoke to a angler who had 7 fish on in the Soquel Hole at 36'51/121'59. He was trolling Kajikis down 100 feet.

The fishing was good for the anglers who worked 36'39/121'59 and 36'38/122'00. I fished in that area and caught 6 fish from 18-35 pounds. All our fish came from 60-140 feet down on Green Kajikis, Blue Kajikis, Purple Haze Kajikis, and Watermelon Glow Krippled Anchovies. The water was flat calm all day long. The fish are big so be prepared with heavier leaders and proper drags.?? ...... Read More

The anglers who fished did not catch many fish due to weather conditions. The weather looks good for Thursday and the weekend. I did not get any good reports from the Soquel Hole today from the one angler who fished there.?? ...... Read More
