Off to a decent start on this annual four day run with a veteran group of nine anglers who share much rich history with Royal Star. In the market for jumbos a couple of handfuls of 50-70 pound bluefin warmed us up. But overall this “new” zone that freighted real volume the night prior was a paltry affair. The writing on the wall crystal clear we pointed her west after exhausting our tolerance confident that bigger and better are available elsewhere. Time will tell. A workable weather forecast and plenty of time are a combo favoring success.

On an admin note I want to again remind all Royal Star anglers on upcoming voyages to make your reservation for fish processing with Fisherman’s Processing either by phone or conveniently on line at fishermansprocessing.com. We no longer complete order forms on board Royal Star during the voyage. Anglers without reservations are still welcome but the elevated standard of service we  offer with dockside unloading is greatly expedited when anglers have confirmed reservations. And those confirmed reservations are prioritized. If you have any questions please call the shop and speak with our friendly staff at 619 255 3128. Thank you.
