The bluefin are ranging anywhere from 25-200+ pounds. A prepared angler should have their favorite knife jigs in multiple sizes. Some nights they are definitely showing a preference for the smaller sized jigs in the 100-180 gram size. Other nights they are hanging down deep and an angler needs the extra weight of the 300-500 gram jigs. Reels filled to the top with braid and a very short topshot makes a big difference as well. There have been a few opportunities during the daytime lately with those bites coming on a flylined sardine with light line or a sardine on a sinker rig with a heavier set up.
