The Fly Shop
The river really turned on over the last week and the reports have been outstanding. Good numbers of fish in the 12 - 14" range are super grabby right now. You will find pods of larger fish as well, some coming to the net will top 20" if you play your cards right. A mid-morning PMD hatch followed by some Callibaetis or BWO's is what is happening right now. Swinging and stripping leeches will round out your day for some good grabs. Sweet Peas, olive X-Mays, and Peaches N' Cream will work for you right now. A variety of Pheasant Tail nymphs from size 12 up to 18 is always a good plan as well. For dries, you best chances will come in the morning with the spinners, and during the hatch probably round 10 or 11. If you would like to reserve a day with a guide this spring for some great dry fly fishing on California's finest spring creek, give Bryan or Chris a call in Outfitters at (530)222-3555.
Hot Flies:
• Lance's Jigged X-May
• Weiss BP Nymph
• Norman's Wiggletails
• Pheasant Tails
• Mercer's Missing Link
• Zug Bugs
• Zack's Stillwater Swimming Leeches
