Not a bad start with a nice evening hit on 40-60 pound bluefin traditional, flyline fishing before switching over to competition night mode. As so often happens the fish concentrate the effort resulting in some up close and personal hopscotching on moving schools that works particularly well on a flat calm ocean. In rough seas not so much. Fortunately this night/morning we're blessed with the former. This resulted in some fair to fine catching well distributed among the fleet. Settled in and ready we'll see if the trend continues tomorrow. So far so good. As the photos detail there are some dandy schools of fish around!
