EAST WALKER RIVER

The East Walker on the California side of the state line is closed until April 27. 2024. The Nevada side of the river is open through the Winter.

The flows on the EW have been fluctuating a bit the past 2 weeks, which is to be expected. It was up at 161 cfs for a few days, then back down to 117 or so and now it’s at 108cfs. The fishing down there has still been pretty good, it’s a little tougher to get around when the flow is higher but at 108 it’s really in great shape. We’ve had lots of good reports, still mainly on nymphs but still a couple on dries. The stoneflies are still active so keep that in mind if you go down there. Some patterns to try down there include: micro stones, biot epoxy stones, tungsten stones, perdigons, copper johns, prince nymphs, pheasant tails, zebra midges, darth baetis, chubby Chernobyl, madam x.

SCEIRINE RANCH

We had a few clients on the ranch this week unfortunately it was when the flows were at the 161 rate, it was a little tough on them but they were still able to get into a reasonable amount of fish. Nymphing still seemed to be the best down there as on the Rosachi.

HUNEWILL POND

The pond is frozen for now, we’ll let you know when it looks like it’s gonna thaw!

BRIDGEPORT RESERVOIR

Closed until April 27, 2024

KIRMAN LAKE

Closed until April 27, 2024

TWIN LAKES

Closed until April 27, 2024

WEST WALKER RIVER

Haven’t heard any news from the West lately, if you’re going to hit that up I would suggest fishing some of the more sunny sections, be very stealthy so as not to spook the fish and try some attractor nymphs like copper johns, perdigons an hare’s ears as well as some small wooly bugger type streamers.

VIRGINIA LAKES

Closed until April 27, 2024
