Los Vaqueros Outing - February 22, 2024
2-23-2024
Paul Clouse and Al Hurwitz
Paul Clouse trolled Los Vaqueros Reservoir on February 22, 2024 after a series of previous rainstorms. The weather was perfect for fishing with partly cloudy skies, gentle breezes, and mild temperatures. The water clarity was good with surface temparturess running 54.6’ to 55.5’.
Five nice Mt. Lassen Rainbows ranging in weight from 1 to 3 pounds were landed and safely released. Pictured below is Paul with the 3 pound Lassen Rainbow.
All fish were caught in Cox Cove in shallow water ranging from 12’ to 18’ and 5’ below the surface. J-9 Rapalas with various scents were used to catch the fish. All in all a very good day.
Trolling at Los Vaqueros continues to improve with the continuing Mt. Lassen Rainbow Trout planting program. Looking forward to the next outing!
