Another fruitless morning effort on giant yellowfin prompted us to tap out. Not too far from catching salvation we bailed on the giant yellowfin purist objective to dish out a dorado drubbing. It was a welcome respite that provided abundant catching and fun. Foremost is the grade of these beauties this season that hasn't been seen in the long range zones for at least fifteen years. Twenty to thirty pounders with bigger standouts gave everyone a fine challenge on appropriate gear. That accomplished we moved on toward our final day destination offshore in one last effort to locate the missing giants.
Photo of the day captured a lighter moment when everyone was just plain having some fun. Royal Star friend and master angler Mike Kellogg landed this beauty while Captain/owner Alex Natipadab hammed it up behind.
