Wohlford Lake Fishing Report

11-5-2023
Wohlford Lake Staff

The lake is closed for fishing and to the general public on weekdays throughout the fall, as it is every year. We will return to our seven day a week schedule in December at the beginning of trout season. Daylight Saving Time ends this Sunday which means the park will be closing an hour earlier at 5:00 pm. and the boats need to be in by 4:30

Fall is typically a time when the larger catfish go on the feed, bulking up for winter perhaps, whatever the reason they seem to bite more frequently and on a wider variety of bait.

Crappie have been caught recently near Bass Point and at Crappie Rock. Crappie bite mini-jigs and live golden shiners.

Small to medium sized bass are being caught. They are hitting swimbaits, lures, and plastics that replicate shad or bluegill.
