Anglers may see spawning or spawned out salmon in the river above Detroit

The Forest Service Road (FR 46) up the Breitenbush River has re-opened. Current flows are up around 340 cfs after rainy weather this week, making for somewhat difficult fishing conditions. Flows below 200 cfs are ideal. It was stocked several times over the summer and many of these fish should still be available. Fly-fishing techniques such as nymphing are likely to produce more action than other methods.
Anglers may see spawning or spawned out salmon in the river above Detroit. Please give these fish enough distance to complete their life cycle. Also, don't allow dogs to consume salmon carcasses as these contain a toxin that can be lethal to dogs.
