The Fall Trout Derby at Lake McSwain last weekend included great weather and spectacular fishing.  Anglers pulled in some great trout and had plenty of fun doing so.

The tournament was managed through the smart phone app FishDonkey and more than 200 anglers participated. Prior to the derby, the lake was planted with 4,000 pounds of trout.

The Derby was held from 6 a.m. Saturday to noon on Sunday.

“This is always so popular with our anglers,” said MID Parks and Recreation Director Brooke Gutierrez. “We see families and friends up here enjoying the great weather and scenery and it just couldn’t be any better.”

Largest Trout and Stringer of 3 Trout: $2,000 + $2,000:
