As the weather cools down, the striper bite remains excellent. Local angler James Kirkpatrick had a successful fishing outing from the shore near Second Street, using anchovies to catch some sizable stripers - perfect for delicious fish tacos. Up at Lake Mohave, reports suggest that striper fishing is thriving, especially in the coves near the powerlines and trolling in the basin area. There hasn't been much news from the dam area on the lake. Community Park and Rotary Park are performing reasonably well, and the Big Bend area remains a reliable spot.
A quick reminder: ensure you tie a sturdy knot because, during this season, larger stripers start to appear, and when they're hungry, they won't stop feeding. For those of you with boats, keep an eye on water levels. The release from Davis Dam has been fluctuating almost daily, so check the site before heading out and while you're on the water.
We'll soon be receiving rainbow trout from the Willow Beach hatchery, so trout anglers should start preparing their gear. We hope this information is helpful for now, and we look forward to seeing you soon to hear about your latest catches and stories. Most importantly, thank you for your continued support.
