Nymphing and streamer fishing have been better

9-14-2023
Fly and Field Outfitters

The Upper Deschutes has been fishing well. Don’t forget that we only have a few weeks to fish everything above Benham falls as it closes on September 30th. Nymphing and streamer fishing have been better than dry fly fishing but there have been some sporadic hatches of caddis and PMDs. As far as nymphs go jigged leeches, psycho princes, rainbow warriors, duracells and zebra midges are some of our favorites.

Suggested Dries: X-Stimulator #12, Black or Tan Elk Hair Caddis #14-18, Black or Tan Foam Caddis #14-18, Purple Haze #14-18, Tilt Wing PMD #14-18, Parachute PMD #14-18, Black Stimulator #14-16, Parachute Adams #14-18, CDC Flying Ant #14-16, Black or Cinnamon Foam Ant #14-16, Hackle Stacker Baetis #16-20, Parachute Baetis #16-20
