Action: Changes salmon retention to include two (2) additional pink salmon. Maintains previously announced changes to coho retention.

Location: Marine Area 10 (Seattle/Bremerton).

Specific Locations, Dates, and Salmon Rules: 

Marine Area 10, except Sinclair Inlet and Port Orchard, and Year-round piers(Bremerton Boardwalk, Illahee State Park Pier, Seacrest Pier, and Waterman Pier):

• Immediately, through Sept. 30: Salmon daily limit two (2) including no more than one (1) coho, plus two (2) additional pink salmon. No min. size. Release Chinook, and chum.
• Oct. 1 through Oct. 31: Salmon daily limit two (2) including no more than one (1) coho. No min. size. Release Chinook.

Sinclair Inlet and Port Orchard:  Waters of Sinclair Inlet and Port Orchard south of the Manette Bridge in Bremerton, south of a line drawn true west from Battle Point, and west of a line drawn true south from Point White:

• Immediately, through Sept. 30: Salmon daily limit is three (3) including no more than one (1) coho, plus two (2) additional pink salmon. Chinook min. size is 22”. Other salmon species no min. size.  Release wild Chinook and chum.  Two-pole endorsement is allowed.
• Oct. 1 through Oct. 31: Salmon daily limit two (2) including no more than one (1) coho. No min. size. Release Chinook.

Year-round Piers (Bremerton Boardwalk, Illahee State Park Pier, Seacrest Pier, and Waterman Pier):

• Immediately, through Sept. 30: Salmon daily limit is two (2) including no more than one (1) Chinook, plus 2 additional pink salmon. Chinook min. size 22”. Other salmon species no min. size.

Reason for action: The current run size estimate for Puget Sound pink salmon shows the return coming in above forecast, allowing for additional pink salmon retention in these Puget Sound recreational fisheries.
