Sunday Update

Big Hungry

The Mission Belle called in with 50 Dorado, 1 Yellowfin Tuna, and 1 Yellowtail for their Full Day trip with 25 anglers.

The New Lo-An checked in with limits of Bluefin for their 2.5 day trip, they had a few standouts around 200# and they will be in around 615 am.

The El Capitan returned from a 1.5 day trip with LIMITS of Bluefin Tuna (72) and 85 Yellowtail for 18 anglers. The Bluefin are between 30-70 lbs.

The Oceanside 95 returned from a 1.5 day trip with 47 Dorado (up to 35 lbs) for 19 anglers.

Saturday Update:

The Daily Double PM 1/2 day returned with 45 Sand Bass, 15 Rockfish, and 63 Sculpin. 

The Point Loma returned from their Full Day private Coronado Islands charter with 45 Whitefish, 25 Rockfish, 6 Sculpin, 6 Calico Bass, 6 Sand Bass, 1 Lingcod and 1 Sheephead. 

The Mission Belle came back with 10 Dorado, and1 Bluefin Tuna.

The Daily Double AM 1/2 day returned with 12 Calico Bass, 24 Sand Bass, 16 Rockfish, 10 Sheephead and 15 Sculpin. 

The T-Bird called in with 23 Dorado and 30 Yellowfin Tuna for their Overnight trip with 24 anglers.

The El Capitan called on with LIMITS of Bluefin Tuna and 85 Yellowtail for their trip returning Sunday September 10th. 

The New Lo-An called in with LIMITS of Bluefin Tuna (20 - 50 lbs.) for day one of their Two Day trip. Check back later for a final count...

Mission Belle • Full Day • 30 • 2 Dorado 

The Daily Double returned from their AM 1/2 Day trip with 25 Rockfish, 20 Sheephead, 4 Sculpin, 9 Sand Bass, 18 Calico Bass (36 released), and one Whitefish for 29 anglers.

The Daily Double PM 1/2 Day trip returned with 45 Sand Bass, 55 Sculpin & 8 Rockfish for 11 anglers.


The Oceanside 95 returned from a 1.5 day trip with 68 Dorado, 22 Bluefin Tuna (20-45 lbs), and 1 Yellowtail for 18 anglers.


The New Lo-An returned from a 3 day trip with 101 Yellowfin Tuna (15-30 lbs), 55 Yellowtail (15-25 lbs), 48 Bluefin Tuna (20-50 lbs), and 45 Dorado for 17 anglers.

Recommended tackle for any of these trips would include a 30# live bait rod, 50# bait/jig rod and a heavy outfit with 80# or 100# for sinker rigs / knife jigs.

Local trips:

The Daily Double offers ½ day trip departing every day at 8:30 AM and 3:00 PM. They have been fishing in the local kelp beds for bass, Barracuda and Rockfish. Call our office at (619) 223-1627 to book your reservation. (Schedule)
 
The Mission Belle has full day trips scheduled to fish offshore for Bluefin Tuna, Yellowfin Tuna, Yellowtail and Dorado. Trips depart at 6:00 AM. NO PASSPORT required for this trip. (Schedule)

If you're planning on taking a trip with us this season, we encourage you to set up an appointment with one of the 3 fish processors working with Point Loma Sportfishing. If you do not have an advance reservation, there is a strong chance the processors will be unable to process your fish when you return to the dock.
