Fish Report for 9-1-2023

Trout continue to be the best bet here

9-1-2023
Chad Burton and Chris Borden

This week Isabella fell to 83 percent of capacity, 475,338 acre-feet. Trout continue to be the best bet here with limit-style fishing around the North Fork using floating baits. Our contacts reported excellent trout action trolling with Tasmanian Devils, Needlefish and Flicker shad. Bass fishing remains slow here and the fish are spread out. The crappie bite has been solid in 15 to 20-feet of water around offshore structure. Crappie have been coming on live shiners and minijigs with nibbles. The Catfish bite improved this week with good reports near the Dam and Camp 9. Whiskerfish have been caught with Triple S Dip Bait, shrimp, and mackerel. Additionally, we had reports of catfish coming as a bycatch from anglers targeting trout with floating trout baits.
