Fish Report for 8-30-2023
The striper bite is going strong
8-30-2023
Rusty
We have some exciting news from Lake Mohave. The striper bite is going strong, and our local anglers, Brenda Meyer and Ashly Thornton, had a successful outing while trolling with swim baits in the coves near the power lines. The fish they caught ranged from 25 to 27 inches and weighed around 6 pounds each. Additionally, we've heard reports that anchovies near the Davis Dam are also producing good results.
The shores of the Colorado River below the dam and near the casinos have been decent for fishing, with Community Park being your best bet. Some areas near Big Bend Park have also seen success.
In more news, we'll soon have our trout back as the Willow Beach hatchery plans to start the rainbow trout plant around the first week of October. As a brief reminder, please exercise caution and stay safe this weekend, as our river is expected to be crowded. We hope this information is helpful, and we look forward to welcoming you to share your catch and stories with us.
Thank you for your continued support, and happy fishing!
