(Dry Flies)- sparkle dun #14-16, PMD comparadun #14-16, PMD cripple #14-16, Para befus emerger #14-16, triple double olive/black #16-18, outrigger caddis olive/tan #16-18, spent wing caddis #16-18, hoppers tan/yellow #6-14, para hopper #10-14, PMX cricket #12-14, sailor ant brown/black #14-18, momba ant brown/black #14-16.
(A Section)- fishing has been good. Nymphing and dry flies have been productive. Try nymphing caddis and scuds in the morning, and PMD’s in the afternoon. For dry flies, try a caddis or an ant in the morning, and a hopper or PMD in the afternoon. The caddis hatch can be good in the late evenings. This time of year it’s important to cycle through different patterns until you find the right one.
(B Section)- fishing has been good. Nymphing and dry flies have been productive. Try caddis nymphs and dry flies in the morning, and PMD nymphs and hopper/cricket patterns in the afternoon and evenings. With these higher flows red creek rapid isn’t as bony and is a lot easier to get through. It is still recommended that floaters take the left channel through red creek rapid. Keep in mind that red creek tributary can blow the river out at any time.
(C Section)-fishing has been fair. Nymphing has been decent using PMD’s. Dry flies have been more productive using crickets, ants, and hoppers. Longer casts this time of year will increase your success.
Cheers,
Brandon Feller
