New Lo-An called in with limits of Bluefin Tuna for days one and two of their 3-day trip.

Daily Double • 1/2 Day PM • 12 anglers • 48 Red Rockfish, 15 Rockfish, 8 Barred Sand Bass, 2 Sculpin, 1 Whitefish, 1 Lingcod 

El Capitan • 1.5 Day • 18 anglers • 36 Bluefin Tuna, 1 Dorado 

Mission Belle • Full Day • 10 anglers • 9 Bluefin Tuna, 5 Calico Bass, 4 Yellowtail 

T-Bird • 2 Day • 15 anglers • 175 Rockfish, 35 Bluefin Tuna (up to 115 pounds), 25 Dorado, 7 Yellowtail

Monday's Reports

The Daily Double PM Trip caught 22 Sandbass, 3 Calico Bass, 3 Sculpin, 8 Rockfish, and 1 Halibut for 21 anglers.

The Daily Double AM Trip caught 8 Sandbass, 4 Calico Bass, 5 Whitefish, 5 Sheephead, and 3 Rockfish for 22 anglers.

The T-Bird checked in this afternoon from the first day of their 2 day trip. They reported good weather and 30 Bluefin so far on the boat. Most of the Bluefin caught were in the 50-90lb range.

The New Lo-An returned from a 1.5 day trip with LIMITS of Bluefin Tuna (34) weighing in at 40-100 lbs as well as 2 Yellowtail Tuna. There were 17 anglers on this trip.

The Oceanside 95 is departing friday night on an overnight trip leaving at 8 pm. Trip price is $340 includes the mexican permit. This trip WILL RUN FOR SURE! (BOOK HERE)

The T-Bird is departing on Sunday 8-20-23 on an overnight trip and this is a WILL RUN FOR SURE!!! Trip price is $360 and includes the mexican permit. (BOOK HERE)

Recommended tackle for any of these trips would include a 30# live bait rod, 50# bait/jig rod and a heavy outfit with 80# or 100# for sinker rigs / knife jigs.

Local trips:

The Daily Double offers ½ day trip departing everyday at 8:30 AM and 3:00 PM. They have been fishing the local kelp beds for bass, Barracuda and Rockfish. Call our office at (619) 223-1627 to book your reservation.
 
The Mission Belle has full day trips scheduled to fish offshore for Bluefin Tuna, Yellowtail and Bonito. Recommended tackle would be a bait rod with 25# or 30#, a jig rod with 40# or 50# and a heavy outfit with 80# or 100#. Shimano Flat Falls, Colt Snipers, Daiwa SK jigs, Salas 6Xjr’s or Tady 9’s are all excellent jigs for this trip. Trips depart at 6:00 AM. NO PASSPORT required for this trip(Schedule)

If you're planning on taking a trip with us this season, we encourage you to set up an appointment with one of the 3 fish processors working with Point Loma Sportfishing. If you do not have an advance reservation, there is a strong chance the processors will be unable to process your fish when you return back to the dock.
