The Fly Shop
Report: With summer here Hat is fishing well on the bookends, mid day can be quite slow. Tricos are coming off in good numbers now, look for fish feeding on the spinners in soft spots off of seams. You can throw the dry spinners, a lot of people have better luck dropping the Drowned Trico underneath a small dry like a #16 Parachute Adams gooped up with some Loon Fly Dip. Keep your eyes peeled for Callibaetis and PMD spinners as well. Later you should see the Callibaetis and PMDs coming off and fish will move to take the crippled emerging mayflies. Bring size #14 & 16 for the Callibaetis, and #16 or smaller for the PMDs. Nymph-wise, if you are fishing the flats, the BP Weiss nymph, X-Mays in #18, or Sweet Peas are great to have along with some Peaches n' Cream and Zallibaetis. Fishing those under a small indicator or swung and stripped can get fish. Downstream and north of the 299 bridge there are a ton of Caddis and some Yellow Sallies coming off, Mercer's Missing Link, dark and #14 & 16 will be invaluable if you are head hunting towards dark.
Hot Flies: TB Drowned Rusty Spinner, Rubberlegs, Sweet Pea Jigged Baetis, Pheasant Tails, Mercer's Missing Link, and Green Drakes
