Great Fishing at Shasta Lake!
8-10-2023
Jeff Goodwin
The summer trout bite on Shasta Lake kicked into high gear last week and we're seeing some of the best fishing of the summer season. Downriggers set at 65'-75' are picking up most of our bites now and I've slowed my trolling speed down to 2.0-2.2 mph for the most consistent action. The morning bite is really good and it stays pretty steady well into the afternoon. That being said, if you want early limits, now is the time. All of the commonly used trout gear works right now. Yesterday I had two trout limits for our clients before 8:00 and fished another few hours for other species before heading in well before it got hot. If you're looking for a fun day on the lake catching limits of big trout, we currently have plenty of available dates through September and beyond. Call or Text Jaynie at (530) 510-2925 for more information.
