Currently flows are around 1,000 cfs at the Waterloo gaug
7-19-2023
OR Department of Fish & Wildlife Staff
Fishing is generally best when flows are below 3,000 cfs. Currently flows are around 1,000 cfs at the Waterloo gauge as of July 17 and should stay fairly consistent through the summer. Summer steelhead numbers are poor. About 290 fish have made it to Foster so far.
However, Willamette Falls counts are indicating a good spring Chinook run. So far over 22,500 adults have entered the upper Willamette basin as of July 13, with many of these fish destined for the South Santiam.
Anglers are reminded that only fin-clipped trout may be kept
