The striper bite is continuing to be strong here along our shores of the Colorado River. Below the Davis Dam, it's doing well. Our visiting anglers, Mikie Hagaman and Troy Kamphuis, were fishing from Grand Paw's boat using anchovies. They landed a nice string of the smaller ones, with one weighing 3.32 pounds and measuring 21 and 1/4 inches. This size is making everyone's day, but now and again, some of our larger ones are starting to steal your bait before the smaller bait stealers.
Up on Lake Mohave, the striper bite is starting to pick up. Our local angler, Mark Oswood, or as most know him, Corn Man, was fishing on the lake and landed a couple of nice stripers. He was fishing from his boat and using a swimbait that he had doctored up by adding some paint to it. These fish weighed in at 5.58 pounds and 24 and 1/4 inches in length, while the larger one came in at 10.06 pounds and was 32 inches. This is great news that our lake is producing fish.
No word from the marsh area as of yet, but we are hot, and that area can warm up without much airflow in the weeds. So, we hope this update helps for now, and we look forward to seeing you soon to share your catch and your story. Mostly, thanks for all of your support!
