The second of three catfish plants slated for July went in yesterday. They are catching catfish currently in Boat Dock Cove and Senior Shoreline, but after the weekend the best spot will probably be the west buoy line. Lake Wohlford cats prefer cut mackerel or chicken liver. Stop by the Ranger Station for a dough-bait recipe that works well for either catfish or carp.

Crappie are being caught in decent numbers in the vicinity of Bass Point, at the Crappie Float, and by boaters trolling or drifting for them. Crappie respond best to mini-jigs or live golden shiners and bite best in the early mornings or late afternoons.

Largemouth Bass are being caught around structure. They will chase shad raps, crawdads, or dark colored plastics.
