Fishing was excellent again this week at Convict Lake. With the warmer weather, the trout are going deeper. Anglers are getting better results by fishing around first light and around dusk.  Trout are most active when the sunlight is weakest.

 The bite has been good for boat and shore anglers.  We had many 4 to 8 pounders come out this week.  Most anglers are reporting good bites with inflated night crawlers, Garlic Power Bait, Mouse Tails, along with Thomas Bouyants, Pinched Crawlers, and Sierra Slammers.

 It is good to know that the California Department of Fish and Wildlife hatcheries are back in full production and are operating at full capacity. All the problems from a couple of years ago have been resolved. In fact, they stocked our lake with 600 pounds of lunkers this week.

 The weather is predicted to be mostly sunny all week with high temps in the mid 80’s.  Low temps will bein the high 40’s.  It will be a good time to come up to the lake and throw your line in the water.

 The General Store is open Monday through Saturday from 7:00 AM to 8:00PM.  Our hours on Sunday are 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Customers tell us all the time that we have a little bit of everything they need for their stay up here.  Come on in and check out all our cool stuff.

 The Aspen Grill is serving breakfast burritos, breakfast quesadillas, and egg sandwiches from 8:00 AM to 11:00AM.  Lunch choices include Convict Cheeseburgers, Tri Tip Sandwiches, Pulled Pork Sandwiches, Fish Tacos and more. Lunch is served from 11:30 AM to 3:00 PM Wednesday through Monday.  The Grill is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
