Big Hungry

The Point Loma called in from their Full Day offshore trip with 5 Yellowfin Tuna, 4 Bluefin Tuna and 1 Bonito. 

The Mission Belle called in with 19 Yellowtail, 5 Barracuda, 2 Rockfish and 5 Calico Bass for their Coronado Islands charter. 

The Daily Double came back from their AM 1/2 day trip with 4 Calico Bass, 45 Sand Bass, 23 Rockfish, 3 Sculpin and 1 Sheephead. 

The New Lo-An just called in at 10:00 A.M. from their 1.5 day charter With LIMITS (28) of Bluefin Tuna for their 14 Anglers.  The fish were between 20 and 35 pounds.

The Primetime started off the morning with 10 Yellowfin Tuna and 1 Bluefin Tuna for 5 anglers on their 1st of a 3.5 day trip. All these fish are 30-40 pounds.



 


Offshore fishing trip:

The 2023 schedules for the El Capitan, New Lo-An, Oceanside 95 and T-Bird are now available online. Bluefin Tuna from 40# to 100# are biting in 1.5 day range. You can book your reservation through the following links:

Recommended tackle for any of these trips would inclued a 30# live bait rod, 50# bait/jig rod and a heavy outfit with 80# or 100# for sinker rigs / knfie jigs.


 

Local trips:

The Daily Double offers ½ day trip departing everyday at 8:30 AM and 3:00 PM. They have been fishing the local kelp beds for bass, Barracuda and Rockfish. Call our office at (619) 223-1627 to book your reservation.
 

The Mission Belle has full day trips scheduled to fish offshore for Bluefin Tuna, Yellowtail and Bonito. Recommended tackle would be a bait rod with 25# or 30#, a jig rod with 40# or 50# and a heavy outfit with 80# or 100#. Shimano Flat Falls, Colt Snipers, Daiwa SK jigs, Salas 6Xjr’s or Tady 9’s are all excellent jigs for this trip. Trips depart at 6:00 AM. NO PASSPORT required for this trip. (Schedule)

If you're planning on taking a trip with us this season, we encourage you to set up an appointment with one of the 3 fish processors working with Point Loma Sportfishing. If you do not have an advance reservation, there is a strong chance the processors will be unable to process your fish when you return back to the dock.
