Fish Report for 6-23-2023
Large and smallmouth fishing remained solid
6-23-2023
Chad Burton and Chris Borden
The lake held at 92 percent of capacity, and water temperatures have been in the low seventies. Large and smallmouth fishing remained solid, and it gets better with a little wind on the surface. Drop shot, Neko rigs, and stick baits in light purple, brown, and green fooled plenty of bass from shore down to 25 feet deep. Jerkbaits, and crankbaits produced well on wind swept points and banks in the afternoons. Topwater fooled bass and striper during the morning boils, and cut baits and lugworms worked well for line sides in deeper water near the Marina and Yellowbar. Catfish ate chicken liver, dip bait, and nightcrawlers.
