We departed on our Channel Islands Fishing Club/ Eric's Tackle 8 Day trip and we pointed the boat South. We spent our first day hosting seminars and our charter host Bill Pringle had an assortment of giveaways for everyone to fish with on this trip.
We arrived to our destination and we put the anchor down and had excellent Yellowtail fishing right off the bat. Keeping 1-7 going all the time with an awesome show of surface action kept everyone busy all day. The grade of fish was beautiful being 15-30#s with some bigger models in the mix. Everything worked from fly lined baits to Yo Yo jigs. When the dust had settled we put together a great day on beautiful grade Yellows.
We woke up the second morning with choppy weather but the Yellows didn't seem as excited as our first day. We still had a great shot first thing in the morning and come 10 in the morning we decided to make a move further south to try a different area. When we arrived to the lower zone we were greeted with nicer weather and warmer water. We put our anchor down and it was on. Yellowtail snaking around behind the boat and excited to see us. We had an awesome afternoon and everyone got their fill on Yellows.
We are rolling up the line now in hopes to get ourselves in position to catch some Bluefin before we have to call it a trip. We will check in later.
